After having to delay my trip for 24 hours, flying a total of 18 hours, and spending a 14 hour overnight layover in Johannesburg- I finally made it to Muizenberg, South Africa! There is always a tinge of sadness when leaving home but I am excited to spend the next 9 months here, exploring God's Word. Muizenberg is a small surfing community, settled at the base of towering mountains, along the shore of the Indian Ocean. God's splendor is on full display here in the Western Cape. I arrived just one week ago but I have already learned so much. The School of Biblical Studies (SBS) staff are incredibly knowledgeable and they have made me feel so welcomed from the start. Our class of around 30 people represent 19 different nations! We are spending the first three weeks in an intensive seminar learning how to study the Bible, as well as working through a few books along the way. Please keep me in your prayers as I embark on this journey of discovery. Probably not the picture you were anticipating- however, this street art does express the eclectic, artsy flair Muizenberg is known for. Hopefully, I will be able to take more photos soon in order to capture the amazing natural beauty this city holds.
