A nicknamed Ninja Star from Hope. Right now, I am doing Leadership Track, in preparation for staffing Awaken DTS in April. So basically, this is what it entails: ~We spend several hours in the prayer room a week, where we intercede for unreached nations, arts and media, teams currently on outreach, and things going on with in the United States. ~Twice a week we have lectures, along with miscellaneous meetings. Wednesday is a general lecture for the entire leadership track and friday is our elective day. I opted to take a preaching and teaching class. I am stoked to become more effective in sharing the Gospel! ~We are also memorizing The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7), reading a few books, and doing assignments along with it. ~In addition, we serve the base (which is what we call the YWAM campus) in various ways. I work in the DTS office reviewing applications and interviewing future students. On Thursday nights, I get the opportunity to teach 3 and 4 year olds about the Bible. They may be young but they are passionate about Jesus! ~On Wednesdays, I go to Hope with a team of 12. This is a low income housing compound here in Kona. Most of the families are just coming off the streets after being homeless. We get to play with the elementary kids living there, show them God's love, tutor them, and teach them to serve the community by cleaning up trash together. These kids are wild and full of energy, but it is SO MUCH FUN! They are so always so excited to have us. ~I am learning so much and really growing in the area of self-discipline. This has already been a great experience and I am so excited to see what God has in store!
